Gary L Gresh is a retired U.S. Army Colonel who lives in the village of Flat Rock, North Carolina. He has eleven books currently being sold by Amazon Kindle. Gary is a historian by heart and education and loves the historical novel as a means to bring history alive to today’s audience. His most recent books are three historical romance novels entitled The Georgia Rains, a 1960s romance, and The Brothers Carne, a civil war and Western romance novel and ONLY YOU, another Vietnam Romance story. His latest book, Abandoned, is a unique love story told in real-time in the middle of a disaster.

Gary holds two advanced academic degrees and is a graduate of The Army War College. His passion for the history of the US Civil War has led him to collect memorabilia from the civil war and write about the Post-Civil War West.

Gary and his wife of 51 years moved to Flat Rock after his 30-year career as a Paratrooper in the US Army. A distinguished Officer, he served in several Special Operations Units in two branches of the Army and was awarded over 24 Army awards and badges during his service to the country. His military awards include the Distinguished Flying Cross, Two Bronze Stars, and The United States Army Distinguished Service Medal awarded by the Secretary of The Army upon his retirement in 1998. Colonel Gresh is also a 2011 inductee in the US Army AGC Hall of Fame for his distinguished service to the US Army.
